Ezcurra, Agustín
Painter born in Montevideo (Uruguay) on 28th February of 1880. Start his first artistic studies with the Master Godofredo Sommavilla (1896 fo 1897), later studied at the Fine Arts Circle (1905), Human Anatomy (with Dr. Becerro de Bengoa), perspective and projections (with the Master Hermenegildo Sabat) and architecture with the Master Vázquez Varela.
Was professor at this artistic center for one year, renounced for hold an similar charge at the Work University for 26 years.
Atted as well other professorships in several teaching institutes. Traveled to Europe in 1925.

1915- International Exhibition of San Francisco, California (USA).
1918- Uruguayan Artists Exhibition at the XXV General Fine Arts Exhibition of Río de Janeiro (Brazil). Sending two paintings "Poppys" and "Solitary Tree".
1929- International Exhibition of Sevilla (Spain).
1955- Barcelona's Biennial (Spain).

1912- International Exhibition organized by the Fine Arts Circle (Uruguay).
1920- Latin American Exhibition (Uruguay).
1922- 1st Spring Contest (Uruguay).
1927- 1st Autumn Contest (Uruguay).
1927- Exhibition organized by the National Comission of the Centenary of Uruguay.
1927-29- Competed at all National and Municipal Contests (Uruguay).
1915-19-34-35- Club Católico (Montevideo, Uruguay).
1945- Exhibitions Hall at the Juventus Club (Montevideo, Uruguay).
1958- School and Secondary School Nuestra Señora de Lourdes (Montevideo, Uruguay).
Principal Prizes:
1927- 2nd Prize, Silver Medal at the International Exhibition of Sevilla (Spain), participated with two paintings: "In the full sun" and "On leaving of Factory" already exhibit at the Autumn Contest of 1927.
In National Contest obtains:
-Mention, Bronze Medal for his oil "The Law Doctors" at the VIII Contest of 1944.
-Mention, Bronze Medal for his ink "Malvín Stream" at the XII Drawing and Engrave Contest 1949.
It's represented at the Juan Manuel Blanes Municipal Fine Arts Museum with his oil "At Dusk" (La Teja Quarrys) and in private collections of Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and Belgium.
Died in Montevideo (Uruguay) on 16th December of 1958.
