Ribeiro, Federico
Since his childhood, in 1988, start his painting studies with Walter Nadal and later with his father (Edgardo Ribeiro Nario) and his grandfather (Edgardo Ribeiro).
Also studied at Guillermo Fernández and Clever Lara Schools.
Won a scholarship to study at Barcelona (Spain), city where he living and have his studio.
Since 1991 devotes at plastical arts, participating in several individual and collective exhibitions in Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and France.
In 1993 moved to Lisboa (Portugal) and studied drawing at ARCO Institute. Travel to Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Holland; meeting his principal art galleries.
From 1994 to 1995, studied at Ribeiro Nario's School.
From 1996 to 2000, studied at Design Center.
In 2000, studied at Clever Lara and Guillermo Fernández Schools.
Principal Exhibitions:
1991- Exhibe at Walter Nadal School.
1994- Guest by the Foreign Diplomatics Association to exhibe in Sala Figari (Foreign Relations Ministry of Uruguay). Take part in “Doble Muestra” at Zira Guichón Gallery (Uruguay).
1995- Aldeas Infantiles reproduce one of his works to Christmas cards. Admit at Navy Club Contest. Take part at the Collective Exhibition of Aldeas Infantiles.
1996- Edel Trade Center (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Expo Feria Esteio (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Admit at the Navy Club Contest. University Collective Exhibition.
1997- II Plastical Arts Exhibition of MERCOSUR (Uruguaiana, Brazil). Mention at Navy Club Contest.
1998- Admit at the Young Artists Contest (Legislative Palace, Uruguay). Admit at Navy Club Contest. Exhibe at Richard Anderson High School (Montevideo, Uruguay).

1996-2000- Execute several free-lance graphic design and editorial illustrations works.
His works are in several private collections of Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, USA, Spain, Switzerland, Canada and Germany. As well at Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Transportation and Public Works of Uruguay.
"Federico Ribeiro", por Fundación Bank Boston (Uruguay).
Federico Ribeiro nace el 20 de Agosto de 1976. Desde temprana edad, en 1988, comienza sus estudios de pintura con Walter Nadal y los prosigue con su padre y abuelo, Edgardo Ribeiro Nario y Edgardo Ribeiro respectivamente.
Asimismo, transita los talleres de Guillermo Fernández y Clever Lara. Recibe una beca para realizar un Máster de Animación en Barcelona, ciudad donde reside y tiene su taller actualmente. Desde 1991 se dedica a las artes plásticas, participando de distintas exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Uruguay, Brasil, Argentina y Francia.
Sus obras se exponen en distintas galerías uruguayas, e integran colecciones privadas de Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay, Estados Unidos, España, Suiza, Alemania y Uruguay. Desde el 2001 integra el proyecto “Plaza de Artes de la Fundación BankBoston” así como “The Uruguay Cultural Foundation for the Arts”.

Al contemplar la obra de Federico Ribeiro, se hace evidente un caos que ha sido ordenado a través del sentimiento. Nos invita a redescubrir las formas y encontrar el placer en el color sobre el color, en la mancha, en la línea.
Tercera generación de una familia de pintores, que empezando con su abuelo (Edgardo Ribeiro) quien fuera discípulo directo de Joaquín Torres García, y siguiendo por su padre (Edgardo Ribeiro Nario), Federico ha sabido recibir y reinterpretar dichas enseñanzas a través de sus pinturas.
Nos encontramos, sin duda, frente a un artista que denota esfuerzo en su pasado y un porvenir de crecimiento.
