Añón, Omar
He was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) in 1957.
Since he was very young he was already inclined to draw, because of that his parents sent him to private classes with the teacher Francisco Siniscalchi.
Although the seed of art remained germinating and latent inside him for a long time, it was not until years later that it manifested itself in him.
He began to form his artistic profile, making incursions into the field of craftsmanship, and so for several years while studying and perfecting in depth the techniques, creative processes and mainly the world of color.
It was during a trip to Europe where Añón came into contact with the great masters of Renaissance painting; this contact with the different currents, manifestations and periods of European painting, nourished his creativity and gave him greater confidence and firmness in the results.
The application of the airbrush in art awoke his curiosity in such a way that he decided to enter this field.
Thanks to several books, a lot of practice and passion, he managed to capture in the support, through color the effect he wanted and that people who like art have been able to appreciate.

In 1996 he won the 1st Prize in the Painting Contest that the Lions Club organized on the occasion of its 45th Anniversary celebrations. At present, the awarded work enriches the cultural heritage of this institution.
His works are selected in the years 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 in the Salons of Maritime Painting of the Naval Club, receiving the Prize Inqui in the year 1998.
Collective exhibitions:
These exhibitions were represented by art galleries, among them ArteBA 2002 (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
His works are in private collections in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, etc.
