On the occasion of the celebration of the 91st Anniversary of the OAS and the creation of the Inter-American System, the Office of the OAS General Secretariat in Uruguay programmed the "Pan American Week 1981". This exhibition brings together 12 participants of high artistic level and three painters out of competition: Acosta Bentos, Atilio Buriano, Sergio Caraballo, Aldo Curto, Isabela D'Amado, Cristina Devoto, María Pirone, Miguel Villalba, Enrique Hernández Duffour, Plinio Rinaldi, Stella Yannandrea and the remarkable cartoonist Nelson Romero. The winner of the Acquisition Award was Enrique Hernández Duffour and the Special Mention Medal went to Plinio Rinaldi. Outside the competition, the following artists participated: Clever Lara, Osvaldo Leite and Gustavo Vázquez.
