Pepe Montes is one of the most personal and independent Uruguayan painters, who has traced a coherent pictorial trajectory, always directed in the same direction. Perhaps, because he left the Torres García Workshop, to establish his teaching and continue his path with his own concern as an artist-painter. This excellent exhibition, "Montes 83", brings together his most recent production, which has little to do with his past exhibitions.
